There Is No Success Mantra or Fixed Formula for Higher Rankings in SEO

Each and every SEO professional wants to decode Google's ranking algorithm to rank higher in the SERP's. A lot of efforts have been made to understand how does Google rank Websites but no one has been completely successful in understanding it.

Some become successful in ranking website for a particular keyword or key phrase in the SERPs, but are unable to get higher rankings for other keywords of the same website. Why...? The reason is very simple. In actuality, they are shooting in the dark to get higher rankings.

As you know that Google keeps updating its algorithm to remove spam and improve its search results. As a result, SEO goes on changing too. Some of the things that we used to do in the past are obsolete or ineffective now and the things we used to think useless are important and effective now in the eyes of Google and other search engines like yahoo. My point is that no body knows the exact ranking formula of Google. There is no success myntra or fixed formula for higher rankings in SEO.

Now the question arises, how can we give effective, result-oriented and guaranteed SEO Services to others. The solution is very simple. We need to Observe, analyze, experiment, conclude, understand and apply. Whenever any search engine introduces any update or makes any changes to its ranking algorithm, we do need to update ourselves about those updates and make necessary changes to our Onpage and Offpage SEO.

Google Is Rolling Out Updates Secretly (Google Penguin Updates April 2013)

As you know that Google's head of search spam, Matt cutt, has already announced that Google is gonna introduce a major Google penguin update in april 2013. Google penguin was introduced on 24th April 2012 and I think Google is likely to carry out some of those major updates on 24th April 2013 this year.

I have been seeing major changes in the SERP's for the last two months and I'm sure Google is ready with a big surprise for the SEO community. It seems that they are doing updates every week without announcing them. It is a matter of great concern and analysis for all the webmaster community because Google is making it very difficult to guess what updates have been done?

One thing that we must keep in mind that Google will not announce any update officially from now onwards. All the webmasters will have to put two and two together and examine the SERPs to find out any update.

Top 7 Rules For Quality Link Building In SEO

1. Every Inbound Link Is Different:- Each and every inbound link coming to your website is different according to its website's image in the eyes of Google. If the website linking to your website is a quality website and reputable one, then its link value will be high and it will transfer huge amount of link juice towards your website. On the other hand, if the website giving backlink is a low quality website distributing spammy links, then its link value will be almost zero. And it will harm your website's reputation.

Google wants good and character websites. Google says "Avoid bad company". Don't associate your website with the bad guys (spam or low quality websites) on the internet. Always remember that "Better alone than in a bad company".

2. Relevancy Rules The Roost:- Relevancy is your key to success. If your website is on SEO, then it has to get links from other SEO websites. You just can't get backlinks from every other website that has nothing to do with SEO. For your website, getting backlinks from technical forums or other non SEO websites doesn't make any sense in the eyes of Google.

Let's understand this a litle bit more. Just as only a doctor can recommend another doctor and say that Mr. xyz is a good doctor and you can trust him. In the same way, only an SEO website can recommend your website that it is a good website and Google should trust it.

3. Use Keywords As Hyperlink:- This is one way of increasing the relevancy of a backlink. If we use our keywords as hyperlinks, it means that keyword is highly relevant to that particular page and it should rank high in the SERPs. But we must not misuse this principle. We must not over use such hyperlinks for the same or exact keywords for which we want rankings. This is because Google is smart enough to catch this manipulation. As a result, Google penguin will come into play and our website will be hit by it and we will start losing rankings in the SERPs. Use a variation of hyperlinks in certain ratio like 7 to 4 etc.

4. Avoid No Follows:- Webmasters often try to forcibly get a link from blogs or another websites. To fix this problem, Google introduced the concept of do follow and no follow links. Do follow links pass link juice and page rank to the linking website and hence are not counted as spam. Hence these are very useful. On the other hand, no follow links do not pass any link juice and are considered spam links by Google. Google's anti-spam team has started removing link juice from no follow links. That is why it is useless to get a no follow backlink. Always build do follow backlinks.

5. Competitor's Backlink Analysis:- Competitor's backlink analysis is very important in link campaign. It is very important to check the backlinks of your competitors. We must analyze those links and try to get a backlink from those websites. This is because those websites will be very relevant as they have helped your competitor in ranking in the SERPs. 6. Check Page vs. Domain Authority:- Page Authority is a numerical value assigned by SEOmoz on a 0 to 100 logarithmic scale. The higher the value, the more are the chances of ranking of your webpage in Google. On the other hand, Domain authority indicates the strength of the entire domain. You can check page authority and domain authority on SEOmoz's free toolbar or on the Open Site Explorer. With the help of these tools, we can decide whether it is worth while to get a link from any particular webpage or not.

7. Quality vs. Quantity:- SEO is changing day by day. Google is becoming more and more strict for low quality or spam websites. Therefore, it is wise to focus on quality and not on quantity. Avoid getting backlinks from 0 to 1 pr websites, directories or bookmarking websites because these will do more harm than good to your website.
